Bondi Anglican Churches is a community of believers united by our trust in Jesus Christ. One way to describe us is by the acronym BEACH - Bondi Evangelical Anglican Churches.
We love Bondi. We love the beauty of what God has created here. The golden sands, the blues of the sea. The waves that roll in remind us of his on-going, patient care of his world. But most of all we love the people of Bondi.

We know of God's concern for our neighbours around us. We want to share with them the joy that Jesus offers. God's love for us motivates us to love those around us, and what better way to love someone than to introduce them to Jesus?

Evangelical simply means that Jesus is our only hope of salvation and the Bible is our ultimate authority for life and godliness. Jesus only for salvation is a recognition that there is nothing we can do to contribute to our standing before God; we are solely reliant on his obedient life, his substitionary death, and victorious resurrection. Bible alone for authority recognises the Bible as it has been passed down to us is God's Word, and thus has authority over matters of life and godliness. Thus our gatherings are Bible saturated as this is how we hear the good news of Jesus Christ and grow in godliness.
We stand in the Anglican tradition which we means our gatherings and church structure are informed by our history. We do not uncritically accept everything new, nor hold to traditions that have no meaning in our current cultural context. However, there have been giants of the faith that have gone before us (as there have in other traditions) and so we don't discount their understanding of Scripture. Most people that come to our church from other reformed protestant churches (such as Presbyterian or Baptist) won't notice too much difference on a day-to-day basis. If you want to read more about the Anglican expression of biblical truth, you can read the Thirty-Nine Articles. The Nicene Creed and Apostle's Creed articulate our faith. Our prayer book guides our services.
The church is not a building of bricks and stone, but a community of people living a redeemed life together. We meet in various places and at different times during each week. We are of different backgrounds and cultures. Yet we are united by the Spirit of God. As we grow, there will be more meetings places, more community. But always united under Jesus.
It's a common enough question: Do I need...
